Wash Rack Operator (Day Shift)

Join Wasteconnections as a Wash Rack Operator on the day shift at our 5159-Buchanan Environmental Services Landfill location. This is a full-time position where you'll maintain equipment cleanliness and support our operations with hands-on work in a fast-paced waste management environment.

Role Overview

As a Wash Rack Operator, you'll be responsible for operating and maintaining the wash bay systems that keep our fleet and equipment running efficiently. Working during daytime hours, you'll be an essential part of Wasteconnections' operational support team, ensuring that vehicles and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained according to company standards and environmental regulations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Operate industrial wash systems and pressure washing equipment to clean trucks, compactors, and specialized machinery
• Monitor wash bay operations and troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise
• Maintain detailed records of wash cycles, equipment maintenance, and any repairs needed
• Follow environmental protocols for wastewater handling and disposal
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of wash rack facilities and surrounding areas
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed and report hazards immediately
• Coordinate with mechanics and equipment teams to prioritize washing schedules

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience operating industrial cleaning or pressure washing equipment is a plus
• Ability to work in an outdoor, sometimes weather-dependent environment
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
• Reliability and punctuality for day-shift schedules
• Physical capability to perform manual labor and stand for extended periods
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and environmental regulations
