Senior Designer, Combat

What This Role Involves

As a Senior Designer, Combat at Warnerbros, you'll direct the visual and technical design of combat-focused sequences from initial concept through final delivery. You'll work at the creative intersection of choreography, practical effects, and visual storytelling, establishing standards that elevate our action sequences while maintaining safety and production feasibility.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and direct all aspects of combat sequences, from storyboarding to execution
• Collaborate with directors, producers, and stunt teams to realize creative vision
• Develop comprehensive combat choreography documentation and visual references
• Lead design reviews and oversee implementation to quality standards
• Mentor junior designers and coordinate across production departments
• Ensure combat styling consistency throughout productions
• Evaluate emerging techniques and production approaches within the industry

Qualifications

• Proven background designing or choreographing combat sequences for film, television, or streaming productions
• Strong portfolio demonstrating combat design and visual development work
• Expertise with industry-standard design software and visualization tools
• Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills
• Solid understanding of safety protocols and stunt coordination requirements
• Leadership experience supervising or mentoring design teams
• Bachelor's degree in film, design, animation, choreography, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience in combat design
