Beazley Group seeks an Underwriter - Healthcare Professional Liability for our Los Angeles County office in Textile Finance. This full-time position offers the opportunity to underwrite complex medical professional liability risks and provide strategic guidance to broker partners and internal teams.
About the Role
As an Underwriter in our Healthcare Specialty Risks team, you'll own a portfolio of medical and life sciences accounts, applying your expertise to evaluate emerging risks and support the growth of our healthcare liability business. You'll collaborate closely with brokers, claims professionals, and underwriting colleagues—serving as a key advisor on coverage questions and underwriting strategy for healthcare industry exposures.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate medical professional liability applications and determine underwriting terms based on risk assessment
- Develop and nurture long-term relationships with brokers and key accounts
- Advise on healthcare underwriting challenges and coverage interpretation for complex exposures
- Manage your assigned portfolio of accounts for sustainable profitability and risk balance
- Coordinate with claims and underwriting teams on risk management and policy administration
- Monitor regulatory and industry developments affecting healthcare liability underwriting
