About the Role
As a Tree Climber at Lush Lawn, you'll be the backbone of our tree service operations in Rochester Hills and the surrounding Oakland County area. You'll scale tall trees safely and efficiently, working alongside our experienced crew to keep properties beautiful and hazard-free. This is hands-on, physically demanding work that requires both technical skill and a deep respect for safety.
What You'll Do
- Ascend and descend trees using professional-grade ropes, harnesses, carabiners, and other specialized climbing equipment
- Perform precise pruning and trimming operations to maintain tree health and aesthetics
- Execute rigging techniques to safely lower large branches and sections during tree removal
- Remove dead, diseased, or hazardous trees following industry best practices
- Maintain trees in residential and commercial settings across Rochester Hills and Oakland County
- Conduct pre-job inspections and communicate findings to your crew lead
- Follow strict safety protocols and OSHA guidelines on every job site
- Help maintain climbing gear and equipment in top working condition
What We're Looking For
- Excellent physical fitness and stamina for climbing, lifting, and outdoor work in all weather
- Solid understanding of arboriculture, tree biology, and proper pruning techniques
- Comfort working at heights and proven ability to stay calm under pressure
- Experience with climbing equipment and professional rigging (or willingness to train and certify)
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow detailed protocols without exception
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented work ethic
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites in Rochester Hills and surrounding areas
