Role Overview

As a Culinary Service Associate at The Olive Kitchen, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to students, faculty, and staff. This temporary, full-time position combines food preparation support with customer-facing service in one of Notre Dame's key dining facilities. You'll be part of a dedicated team committed to maintaining high standards of food safety, presentation, and hospitality in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and plate menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with food portioning, packaging, and proper storage while adhering to health and safety protocols
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and serving area throughout your shift
• Support inventory management and communicate stock needs to kitchen leadership
• Deliver friendly and attentive service to all guests at The Olive Kitchen
• Follow all food safety regulations and University dining policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Food Handler's Permit or willingness to obtain certification
• Reliable attendance and strong punctuality
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
