Technical Project Manager – Software Development (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential SaaS organization in Saarbrücken that is building sophisticated compliance and information security solutions. We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead software development operations and guide engineering teams through the full product lifecycle. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with deep technical expertise who can balance delivery, architecture, and team development.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational planning, capacity allocation, dependencies, and release coordination across backend and frontend development teams
• Lead development leads and engineering teams with both functional and disciplinary responsibility, establishing clear ownership and resolving blockers proactively
• Serve as the central interface between engineering and product management, translating product requirements into technically sound and realistically scoped solutions
• Coordinate tickets and deliverables throughout their full lifecycle while continuously improving development and project processes
• Make architecture and design decisions alongside development leads, assess technical risks, and evaluate solution approaches
• Maintain focus on long-term technical health including architecture evolution, maintainability, security, and technical debt management
• Drive AI integration across the development lifecycle—from research and technical conception through coding, testing, debugging, and documentation
• Ensure transparent and realistic planning for all stakeholders while balancing product needs, technical constraints, and resource availability

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in software development with hands-on coding background
• Proven experience leading developers and development teams with both functional and disciplinary leadership responsibility
• Track record managing software development projects, coordinating multiple developers and stakeholders, and owning planning through delivery
• Technical depth sufficient to understand architecture decisions, identify technical risks early, and engage in substantive technical discussions with senior developers
• Strong experience in Python-based backend development (Django, Django REST Framework, or FastAPI) or modern frontend development with React and TypeScript; experience with both areas is a plus
• Solid understanding of modern SaaS architectures, REST APIs, relational databases, and the challenges of developing and operating complex web applications
• Active use of AI tools in development workflows or deep engagement with how AI is transforming development and project processes
• Ability to balance product requirements, technical possibilities, and available resources while communicating decisions transparently
• Fluency in both German and English
• Collaborative leadership style with strong organizational skills and a genuine interest in shaping team processes
• Comfort working remotely with regular in-person collaboration in Saarbrücken
