About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-established food manufacturing organization in Hamburg, Germany, seeking an experienced Production Controlling Team Leader (m/f/d). This role offers the opportunity to lead a small, experienced team while remaining closely connected to day-to-day operations in a production environment.

Our client operates multiple production sites and relies heavily on SAP as the central data foundation for costing, calculation, and analysis. You'll play a key role in developing processes, advancing digitalization initiatives, and ensuring reliable financial reporting across production operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small production controlling team, coordinate tasks, and ensure reliable daily operations
• Manage production order accounting for packaging facilities, analyze results, and collaborate closely with production sites
• Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory levels, order accounting, and cost center reporting while maintaining data integrity in SAP
• Oversee calculation runs, special evaluations, and internal costing processes; derive actionable insights and identify areas requiring attention
• Continuously improve processes, reporting systems, and leverage digitalization and automation to enhance analytical capabilities
• Contribute expertise to cross-site projects and collaborate with various departments and international colleagues

What We're Looking For

• Strong foundation in controlling, ideally within production or manufacturing environments, with solid understanding of business economics
• Previous experience taking responsibility for others—whether as a functional lead, deputy, project manager, or within a small team setting
• Educational background through business degree, commercial apprenticeship with further qualification, or equivalent practical experience
• Ability to maintain oversight while staying involved in technical details; skilled at bringing together people, numbers, and processes
• Comfortable providing guidance, listening actively, and sharing knowledge with team members
• Proficiency in SAP and strong analytical skills
• German language proficiency required for this Hamburg-based position
• Interest in driving digitalization initiatives that create genuine value and streamline workflows
