About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential client in the public sector technology space who is seeking a Senior Cloud Test & DevOps Engineer for a remote contract engagement based in Germany. This is a specialized role requiring security clearance eligibility and focuses on securing and advancing a cloud-native platform through comprehensive testing and DevOps practices.
Contract Details: October 12, 2026 through December 31, 2026, with possibility of extension. 90% remote work from within Germany, with travel to Berlin twice per quarter. Security clearance requirement (SÜ2 nach § 9 SÜG) applies.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and execute integrative system and end-to-end tests to ensure integrity and functionality of upcoming releases
- Develop test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases with independent implementation in the platform environment
- Build relevant end-to-end use cases to demonstrate platform capabilities to stakeholders
- Establish continuous feedback cycles with development and DevOps teams for platform improvement
- Develop and communicate optimization recommendations for user-centric and operational documentation
- Prepare and conduct integrative system demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders
- Own the complete lifecycle from concept and documentation through implementation and delivery
- Take on operational responsibilities for a centrally managed test management system (prospective)
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of SDLC principles, code versioning, and Git
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in DevOps or DevSecOps
- Minimum 3 years experience building and using CI/CD pipelines
- Minimum 3 years experience with Linux, automation, and scripting
- Minimum 2 years experience with Kubernetes and containers
- Minimum 2 years experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps
- Minimum 2 years experience documenting user stories and features with Jira
- Minimum 2 years experience working in agile environments with Scrum or Kanban
- Deep Kubernetes and private cloud knowledge in complex environments
- Experience in test and release management
- Eligibility for German security clearance (SÜ2)
- German language proficiency for documentation and stakeholder communication
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with test automation
- Experience with integration testing in cloud-native environments
- Knowledge of agile scaling methods such as SAFe
- Experience building or operating test management systems
