Team Leader – Technical Claims

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential insurtech organization seeking an experienced Team Leader - Technical Claims to join their talented Claims Department on a remote basis within the UK. This is a full-time position leading a specialist team handling complex technical claims functions including Complaints, Fraud, Quality Assurance, Recoveries, and Payment Controls.

Our client operates in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is looking for a leader who can drive performance while maintaining exceptional quality standards across their technical claims operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide line management for a team of Technical Claims Handlers, including all HR and performance management activities
• Drive top performance and KPI achievement across your team
• Manage claims workflow allocation and capacity planning to achieve high productivity and quality outcomes
• Conduct Quality Assurance checks and deliver coaching to improve the quality of technical claims team output
• Maintain detailed and robust oversight of the technical claims portfolio, including timely escalation of any risks

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in an Insurance Claims Leadership role managing 8+ direct reports
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in at least one of the following: Complaints, Fraud, or Quality Assurance
• Previous experience leading teams in a start-up or high-growth company environment
• Deep expertise in claims handling and insurance best practices
• Strong ability to use data to drive understanding and inform decision-making
• Proven experience coaching colleagues to achieve improved quality and productivity
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and achieve top performance from your team
• Highly organized with the ability to self-prioritize workload for the benefit of both business and customers
• A collaborative team player who is always willing to support colleagues to achieve the right results
