Student Web Development

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential sustainability technology organization based in Freiburg im Breisgau. Our client works at the intersection of energy infrastructure planning and modern web technologies, providing data-driven solutions for complex infrastructure challenges.

We're seeking a student developer to join their web development team in a part-time or internship capacity. This role offers hands-on experience building AI-powered web applications that work with energy and geospatial datasets.

Responsibilities

• Support development of modern web applications with integrated AI features
• Design and implement interactive frontend components using JavaScript and React, including chat interfaces, streaming responses, and agent-style workflows
• Help connect applications to LLMs and proprietary data through APIs and MCP servers
• Work with geospatial and domain-specific datasets to enable natural-language querying
• Contribute to codebase improvements across frontend and backend
• Support decision-making tools for data-driven applications

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
• Experience with or strong interest in JavaScript and React or similar frontend frameworks
• Enthusiasm for working with LLMs—prior experience welcome but curiosity and learning mindset equally valued
• Interest in REST APIs, Python, and Django, with openness to database work
• Ability to contribute ideas independently and work through tasks autonomously after initial training
• Located in or able to work from Freiburg im Breisgau
