Position Summary

Dexterra is seeking a skilled Steam Fitter to join our CMI Management team in Beltsville. You'll be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining steam piping systems, boiler equipment, and related mechanical infrastructure. Your technical expertise will ensure all systems function reliably while meeting industry safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and repair steam piping systems, valves, fittings, and related mechanical equipment
• Read and interpret technical blueprints, drawings, and work orders with precision
• Conduct preventive maintenance and thorough inspections on boiler systems and steam distribution equipment
• Diagnose system failures and troubleshoot mechanical problems to restore functionality
• Perform welding, brazing, and soldering operations to join pipes and components to specification
• Test systems using pressure gauges, diagnostic tools, and other testing equipment to verify performance
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and documentation of all repairs and service work
• Adhere to all safety protocols, codes, and regulatory compliance requirements on site

What You Bring

• Current steam fitter license, certification, or recognized trade qualification
• Hands-on experience installing and maintaining steam systems and mechanical equipment
• Proficiency reading technical blueprints and schematic drawings
• Demonstrated skills in welding, brazing, and pipe fitting techniques
• Working knowledge of HVAC principles and boiler system operations
• Understanding of safety codes and industry regulations for steam systems
• Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting and climbing
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail in technical work
