The Opportunity

Dexterra is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to diagnose, repair, maintain, and install heating and air conditioning systems. You'll work on a variety of equipment serving the Beltsville area and surrounding communities, from routine seasonal maintenance to emergency breakdowns. This role offers hands-on technical work in a dynamic, customer-facing environment where attention to detail and reliability are valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions using specialized tools and testing equipment
• Install, repair, and maintain furnaces, air conditioning units, heat pumps, and associated ductwork
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and document work accurately in service records
• Comply with EPA regulations, local codes, and safety standards in all work performed
• Communicate clearly with customers about system condition, repair needs, and maintenance recommendations
• Transport tools and equipment safely and maintain job site cleanliness and professionalism

What You Bring

• EPA Section 608 Certification (or willingness to obtain) for refrigerant handling
• Proven experience installing and repairing residential and/or commercial HVAC systems
• Strong technical knowledge of heating and cooling principles, system components, and electrical fundamentals
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, manifold gauges, and hand and power tools
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and perform labor-intensive tasks
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for service calls throughout the Beltsville region
• Customer service mindset and commitment to safe, quality workmanship
