What This Role Involves

As our Customer Service - Self Storage Manager in Douglassville, you'll oversee all aspects of facility operations, from customer interactions and lease management to maintenance coordination and revenue collection. Your leadership will directly impact customer retention, tenant satisfaction, and facility performance. You'll work hands-on to ensure our storage units meet cleanliness and safety standards, resolve tenant concerns promptly, and represent Public Storage as a trusted community business. This role combines customer-facing responsibility with operational oversight and requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer relationships through effective communication, lease agreements, and timely resolution of inquiries and concerns
  • Oversee day-to-day facility operations, including unit assignments, move-in and move-out coordination, and access control procedures
  • Maintain facility cleanliness, security, and compliance with company standards and local regulations
  • Handle cash and payment processing, reconcile accounts, and prepare accurate financial reports
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs; identify facility needs and escalate issues appropriately
  • Market available units and drive occupancy through tenant referral programs and community outreach
  • Train and supervise staff to ensure consistent service delivery and operational excellence

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior self-storage, property management, or customer service management experience preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to build positive relationships with diverse clientele
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with computer systems and business software; experience with facility management platforms a plus
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
  • Reliable transportation and availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends as needed
