Customer Service – Self Storage Manager

Public Storage is hiring a full-time Customer Service - Self Storage Manager for our Quarryville, PA location. In this position, you'll take the lead on customer interactions and facility operations, serving as the primary point of contact for renters and the day-to-day operational manager of your storage facility.

What This Role Involves

As a Customer Service - Self Storage Manager serving the Quarryville area, you're responsible for creating a welcoming environment where customers feel confident renting storage units. You'll handle everything from answering phones and showing units to processing leases, managing payment transactions, and keeping the facility in top condition. Your role is central to customer satisfaction—you solve problems, answer questions, and ensure every visitor has a positive experience. You'll also monitor security systems, coordinate maintenance, and keep detailed records of occupancy and facility status. This is a hands-on management position where your attention to detail and customer-first attitude directly impact the facility's success.

Your Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers shopping for storage units; explain rental options and pricing
• Prepare and process rental agreements, security deposits, and payment transactions
• Track occupancy, manage unit inventory, and maintain accurate customer records
• Monitor and maintain facility security systems and gate access controls
• Conduct regular inspections of common areas and customer units for safety and cleanliness
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and billing issues with professionalism
• Coordinate routine maintenance and communicate with service providers as needed
• Operate facility equipment and manage technology systems for customer access and account management
• Follow company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and facility standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven customer service or retail experience preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately and securely
• Comfortable using computers and learning facility management software
• Problem-solving skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to meeting facility operating hours
• Ability to perform physical tasks including facility inspections and basic maintenance checks
