About This Position

We are looking for a skilled Generator Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair a variety of generator systems. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable operation of generators through hands-on technical expertise and preventive maintenance practices. This role is based in Beltsville, Maryland, and plays a vital part in keeping power systems running efficiently for our clients.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair generators of various types and sizes
• Perform troubleshooting to identify mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and complete comprehensive service checks
• Test generator functionality and performance to ensure proper operation
• Document all work performed and maintain detailed service records
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards while working with electrical equipment
• Communicate with supervisors and clients regarding maintenance status and repair needs

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Generator Mechanic or similar diesel and mechanical technician role
• Strong knowledge of generator systems, engines, and electrical components
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems effectively
• Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment
• Valid driver's license required
• Physical ability to perform hands-on repair work and lift heavy equipment
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety standards
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
