Staff Software Developer – Integration(Remote First)

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential InsurTech client in Canada for a Staff Software Developer - Integration role. This is a remote-first position where you'll architect and own the integration strategy across a complex ecosystem of production distributed systems.

Our client has built a comprehensive internal platform managing the complete lifecycle of commercial insurance operations. You'll be working with PostgreSQL as the primary data store, alongside deep integrations with heavily customized enterprise systems including Salesforce, ticketing platforms, payment gateways, ERPs, marketing automation, and telephony systems.

This role reports to the Director of Engineering and represents a critical technical leadership position focused on replacing brittle integrations with robust, engineered solutions.

Responsibilities

System & Data Architecture

• Architect end-to-end integration and data strategy for Salesforce and connected production distributed systems
• Define data ownership, entity shapes, and single sources of truth across platforms using ERDs
• Partner with core engineering teams to align system boundaries and architectural standards

Integration Engineering & Infrastructure

• Design high-scale integration patterns focused on retries, idempotency, reconciliation, and deep observability
• Replace no-code integrations with robust, code-based solutions
• Implement enterprise best practices
• Leverage deep Salesforce expertise to develop sophisticated, code-driven integrations

Change Management & Technical Leadership

• Establish robust CI/CD pipeline for integration management, prioritizing configuration-as-code
• Partner with IT, Product, and business stakeholders for seamless change management
• Serve as guiding authority on modern integration technologies and enterprise software engineering practices

What We're Looking For

Required Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on Salesforce platform experience in complex custom-object environments
• Production TypeScript experience
• Relational database experience with Postgres
• Proven track record building integrations between Salesforce and external systems
• Practical distributed-systems experience: idempotency, retries, dead-lettering, backfills, reconciliation, eventual consistency
• Working knowledge of integration technologies: REST, SOAP, Webhooks
• Strong relational data modeling and ERD design capabilities
• Experience building observability around integrations: metrics, alerts, dashboards, runbooks
• Salesforce metadata in source control plus CI/CD experience (scratch orgs, sandboxes, deployment automation)
• Ability to operate credibly at staff/lead level alongside software engineering organizations

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Salesforce as an operational/domain platform beyond sales CRM
• Integration experience with enterprise systems like Zendesk, SAP, Stripe
• Background in insurance, brokerage, fintech, or regulated/workflow-heavy industries
• NestJS experience
• Experience replacing no-code flows with engineered integrations
• Event-driven architecture, message queues, webhook infrastructure knowledge
