Staff Product Marketing Manager – DLP

Proofpoint is hiring a Staff Product Marketing Manager – DLP to join its cybersecurity marketing team on-site in Draper, Salt Lake County, and help drive go-to-market strategy for one of the industry's most trusted data loss prevention portfolios.

About the Role

As a Staff Product Marketing Manager focused on DLP at Proofpoint, you will own the positioning, messaging, and commercialization strategy for data loss prevention solutions that safeguard how people, data, and AI agents connect across email, cloud, and collaboration platforms. This is a full-time, senior individual-contributor role that sits at the intersection of product, sales, and demand generation — giving you direct influence over how Proofpoint's DLP story reaches the market.

What You'll Do

• Define and refine differentiated messaging and positioning for Proofpoint's DLP product line, translating technical capabilities into compelling value propositions for enterprise buyers
• Lead product launches end-to-end, coordinating with product management, sales, and demand generation to bring new DLP capabilities to market on time
• Build and maintain sales-enablement assets — battlecards, pitch decks, solution briefs, and ROI tools — that help field teams win competitive deals
• Conduct ongoing competitive intelligence and market research to keep Proofpoint's DLP narrative sharp and accurate
• Partner with content and demand generation teams to fuel integrated campaigns targeting data security personas across enterprise and mid-market segments
• Engage with customers, analysts, and press to validate messaging and amplify Proofpoint's data security leadership
• Serve as a subject-matter authority on DLP trends, buyer journeys, and use cases within the broader cybersecurity marketing organization

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of product marketing experience, ideally within enterprise cybersecurity, data security, or SaaS software
• Demonstrated experience marketing DLP, CASB, insider threat, or related data-protection solutions
• Strong ability to distill complex security concepts into crisp, audience-appropriate messaging
• Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration with product management, sales engineering, and marketing peers
• Experience producing high-quality written deliverables — white papers, datasheets, web copy, and executive presentations
• Familiarity with enterprise buying cycles and the personas who evaluate security platforms
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, computer science, or a related field; MBA a plus
