About This Role
We are representing a confidential business services organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This is a remote position based in the Philippines, working Monday to Friday, 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM PHT, following U.S. holidays.
In this role, you'll take ownership of billing, revenue recognition, and collections processes. You'll work closely with Sales and Collections teams to ensure accounts remain current and accurate while supporting month-end and year-end close activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage monthly billing and revenue recognition across multiple revenue streams, including all related journal entries
- Review, approve, and close new sales transactions, creating corresponding billing and revenue schedules
- Adjust billing and revenue schedules when campaign or delivery dates change, self-reviewing work before close
- Record revenue accruals and reversals for unbilled accounts receivable
- Apply and reconcile cash receipts via ACH and lockbox, resolving any unposted or unmatched transactions
- Manage open collection cases in partnership with account owners to drive timely resolution
- Calculate and record sales commission and bonus accruals
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and audit documentation
- Identify and implement process improvements across billing, revenue, and close workflows
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience at a US-based company
- Hands-on experience with billing, revenue recognition, and month-end close processes
- Strong understanding of journal entries and accrual accounting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
Preferred:
- Experience with Salesforce Certinia
- Familiarity with payment processing platforms such as Stripe
- Exposure to sales commission or bonus calculations
