Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential AI research organization seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join their team in Munich, Germany. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in the office, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.

You will partner directly with enterprise engineering organizations to design, build, and deploy AI-powered development systems that transform software development workflows. This role combines deep technical execution with customer leadership—you'll work hands-on in code while helping engineering leaders adopt advanced AI capabilities across planning, building, testing, reviewing, and delivering software.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering leaders and developers to identify high-value opportunities for AI coding systems and translate them into technical architectures, implementation plans, and evaluation strategies
• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered software development workflows that improve how teams write, test, review, debug, and deliver code
• Work hands-on to build prototypes, evaluation frameworks, reference implementations, integrations, and production accelerators
• Guide customers from experiments to reliable production workflows with sustained developer adoption and measurable impact
• Design systematic evaluation approaches using representative engineering tasks, automated testing, production signals, and developer feedback
• Make technical decisions across models, agents, tools, developer environments, reliability, observability, security, and operational readiness
• Diagnose complex implementation challenges, reproduce failures, and drive technical blockers to resolution
• Lead technical workshops and hands-on enablement sessions for engineering teams
• Gather insights from real-world deployments and translate them into product feedback and technical requirements
• Create reusable architectures, tooling, examples, and technical patterns that accelerate future implementations

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated track record designing, building, and delivering software or AI systems in enterprise environments, taking systems from prototype to production
• Substantial personal contributions in code, architecture, evaluation, debugging, integrations, or production engineering
• High proficiency in Python and comfort across modern development environments; experience with JavaScript or TypeScript valuable
• Active user of AI coding tools with a strong perspective on how AI can improve developer productivity
• Experience building prototypes, integrations, automations, and production solutions
• Understanding of systematic AI evaluation approaches including task design, automated testing, and feedback mechanisms
• Experience with enterprise production requirements: developer tooling integrations, reliability, observability, security, privacy, data governance, performance, and cost management
• Ability to connect technical decisions to developer workflows, adoption metrics, and business outcomes
• Clear communication skills across engineers, technical leaders, security teams, and executives
• Comfort leading technical workshops and adoption sessions
• High agency, strong technical judgment, and end-to-end ownership in ambiguous environments
• Fluency in both English and German required
