Sr AI Information Security Architect

Overview

We are representing a confidential insurance organization seeking a Senior AI Information Security Architect to join their accomplished Information Security team. This is a remote opportunity available anywhere in the United States, offering the chance to shape enterprise-wide security posture while leading critical initiatives in application security, incident response, and emerging AI-related security challenges.

As a senior member of the team, you'll provide strategic security consulting across IT projects, conduct threat analysis, and mentor security professionals while staying ahead of evolving threats and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the information security architect supporting the security program across IT and business initiatives, with particular emphasis on application security
• Provide subject matter expertise and security consulting to projects using industry standards and best practices
• Develop enterprise-wide information security requirements for data protection, network protection, application protection, and regulatory compliance
• Conduct comprehensive threat analysis for systems and applications, including security exposure analysis, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments
• Research best practices, emerging technologies, and threats in the information security landscape
• Act as subject matter expert on security control testing, remediation, and incident response
• Provide leadership and guidance to other information security team members

What We're Looking For

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience
• CISSP certification or equivalent highly desirable
• SANS certifications, CISA, or additional security certifications preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 18-20 years in Information Technology with emphasis on Information Security
• At least 12 years directly in Information Security
• Leadership experience required; management experience a plus
• Experience in Incident Commander role for security incident response

Technical Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of security policy, standards, guidelines, and process development
• Detailed knowledge of secure architecture design
• Detailed knowledge of web application development (Java,.Net, secure configurations)
• Hands-on experience conducting application/system penetration testing using OWASP and industry-standard tools
• Experience collaborating with development teams on vulnerability remediation
• Working experience in network vulnerability testing and threat analysis
• Strong knowledge of malware prevention/detection and incident response
• Strong knowledge of encryption, tokenization, and key management
• Knowledge of access control technologies and intrusion detection
• Excellent knowledge of operating systems (UNIX, Windows, virtualization, secure configurations)
• Working knowledge of network security, state privacy laws, and PCI DSS

• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and manage workload proactively
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor across all organizational levels
• Team-oriented with ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration
