Sr. Data Scientist

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their London-based team. As a core member of their data organization, you will drive technical execution and innovation, translating complex business challenges into robust, scalable data products and machine learning models. This role offers high autonomy and the opportunity to own projects from initial exploratory analysis through production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build data science solutions from scratch in a 0-to-1 environment, writing complex SQL, engineering features, and deploying baseline models quickly to prove value before iterating toward complex solutions
• Own the complete model lifecycle from data extraction and feature engineering to deployment, A/B testing, and ongoing performance monitoring
• Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Finance teams to define technical requirements and translate model outputs into clear, actionable business insights
• Write clean, modular, and production-ready code while actively participating in peer code reviews and contributing to technical best practices
• Navigate technical ambiguity, breaking down complex project requirements into manageable, executable milestones
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and analysts, helping them troubleshoot roadblocks and adopt best practices

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of applied experience in Data Science or ML Engineering with a track record of delivering production-ready models that drive measurable business value
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL with deep familiarity with the Python data stack (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) and standard ML frameworks (PyTorch, XGBoost, or LightGBM)
• Proven ability to build for production with experience in cloud-based environments (AWS or GCP), CI/CD workflows, version control (Git), and ML Ops principles
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to connect technical metrics to business outcomes
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts, model limitations, and analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders
• BS, MS, or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Math, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience taking first machine learning models from exploratory notebooks to reliable, automated production pipelines
• Experience in advanced business ML applications such as customer behavior and propensity modeling (churn, propensity-to-buy, lead scoring, LTV), applied forecasting, optimization engines, or causal inference
