About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential data and AI platform organization seeking a Solutions Architect to lead technical strategy for their Digital Native Business segment in London. In this presales role, you will own architecture discussions, drive platform adoption, and serve as a trusted technical advisor to customer architects and engineering leaders. You will develop deep specialization in a technical domain while orchestrating complex solutions spanning data engineering, machine learning, and real-time analytics.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end technical strategy for assigned accounts, from discovery through production deployment and consumption growth
- Lead complex architecture discussions, designing scalable, production-grade solutions across data engineering, ML/AI, and real-time analytics
- Serve as trusted technical advisor to customer architects, engineering leads, and directors
- Drive technical wins in competitive scenarios by demonstrating platform differentiation through custom-built solutions
- Develop and declare an emerging technical specialization (streaming, ML/AI, data governance, or migrations) to become a domain expert within your team
- Orchestrate cross-functional resources to deliver comprehensive solutions for complex customer requirements
- Influence product direction by providing structured feedback on customer needs and competitive positioning
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 6+ years in solutions architecture, data engineering, technical presales, or senior hands-on technical roles
- Strong coding proficiency in Python and SQL with demonstrated live coding, debugging, and solution-building skills
- Deep expertise in distributed data systems architecture: scalable pipelines, streaming architectures, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms
- Experience with modern data and AI platforms, or proven ability to achieve platform proficiency rapidly
- Ability to lead architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders through whiteboarding, design reviews, and trade-off analysis
- Experience with production deployments on public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including infrastructure, security, and governance
- Track record of driving platform adoption and consumption growth within accounts
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex architectures into business value for technical and executive audiences
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or quantitative discipline (or equivalent experience)
Preferred:
- Data platform certifications (Data Engineer, ML, Platform)
- Experience with competitive data platforms and cloud-native services
- Background in data/AI companies or cloud providers
- Industry domain expertise in Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, or Media
