Software Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization seeking enthusiastic Software Engineering Interns for a paid remote opportunity. This internship provides hands-on experience developing modern solutions in a dynamic SaaS environment.

As an intern, you will work on meaningful projects under the guidance of experienced engineers, gaining exposure to secure, scalable product development. You'll participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to real deliverables, and build professional skills while learning healthcare technology standards.

Your daily work will include:

• Participating in team meetings and contributing ideas for ongoing projects
• Conducting research and analysis to support project objectives
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions
• Writing basic code, scripts, queries, or configuration updates with review and coaching from senior team members
• Assisting with development, testing, and documentation assignments under direct supervision
• Learning to identify, research, and troubleshoot basic software issues using established practices
• Participating in code reviews, demos, and feedback sessions to build technical judgment
• Documenting processes, updating project status, and providing regular feedback
• Following security, privacy, documentation, and compliance practices relevant to healthcare technology
• Gaining exposure to the full software development lifecycle through supervised tasks

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Must be enrolled in a college or university program, or a recent graduate
• Must be a senior or expected to graduate within one year of the internship
• Foundational exposure to one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, COBOL, or SQL
• Basic understanding of software development concepts gained through coursework, academic projects, bootcamp, certification program, or equivalent learning
• Interest in learning iterative delivery, software design, testing, and engineering practices
• Interest in learning Agile methodologies, version control, code review, and team-based delivery
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business productivity tools
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, team-oriented environment
• Must have legal authority to work in the United States

Preferred qualifications:

• Knowledge of mainframe and/or mid-tier applications programming (COBOL, ALC, DB2) and file utilities
• Coursework, academic projects, bootcamp experience, certification, or personal projects involving application development, databases, cloud concepts, automation, or healthcare technology
• 1 year of experience achieving solutions through academic, volunteer, bootcamp, certification, or personal projects

Working conditions:

• Remote/home office with adequate connectivity
• Must be able to sit and use equipment at workstation for up to 8 hours daily
• Full-time or part-time schedule may be considered based on academic commitments
• This is a temporary internship with set beginning and end dates
