Software Engineer (Technical Leadership)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Software Engineer with strong technical leadership capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale data problems involving classification, optimization, fraud detection, ranking systems, and recommendation engines. You'll drive technical direction while mentoring engineers and shaping multi-year product roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Drive team goals and technical direction to pursue opportunities that improve organizational efficiency
• Communicate complex features and systems effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Assess and develop new technologies based on industry and organizational trends
• Partner with organizational leaders to improve team and organizational performance
• Identify new opportunities and influence staffing and prioritization decisions
• Collect and synthesize requirements to create effective feature roadmaps
• Develop highly scalable classifiers and tools using machine learning, data regression, and rules-based models
• Adapt machine learning methods for modern parallel environments including distributed clusters, multicore systems, and GPUs

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 12+ years of programming experience in Python, C++, or Java
• 8+ years of experience in machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, data mining, or deep learning
• Proven track record leading projects with significant industry impact
• Experience planning multi-year roadmaps where short-term projects align with long-term vision
• Demonstrated ability mentoring and influencing engineers across organizations
• Track record driving large cross-functional engineering efforts
• Experience shipping products to millions of users or launching new product lines
• Strong communication skills with ability to work across functions to drive solutions
