Software Engineer, Integrity Foundations – London

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology organization building a new team in London focused on platform integrity and safety. This is a foundational engineering role where you'll design and implement scaled systems that detect, track, and respond to misuse and harmful activity across advanced technology platforms.

You'll work at the intersection of engineering, policy, and safety operations—collaborating with trust and safety experts, investigators, and data scientists to stay ahead of sophisticated adversaries. This is a 0→1 team opportunity where your work will directly protect users and platform integrity as the technology scales globally.

Responsibilities

• Design and build foundational backend and data systems for detecting and enforcing against platform abuse and harmful activity
• Partner closely with technical and non-technical harm specialists to understand emerging threats and translate insights into scalable engineering solutions
• Leverage advanced AI and machine learning technologies to automate detection and reasoning about complex abuse patterns with minimal human intervention
• Collaborate across policy, legal, investigations, and operations teams to holistically combat misuse by bad actors
• Stay current with evolving adversarial techniques and proactively develop defenses against well-resourced threat actors

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience building backend and data systems
• At least 2 years of experience in trust and safety analysis, investigation, or operations
• Strong ability to dive into existing codebases, understand system architecture, and propose improvements that strengthen engineering foundations
• Excitement about learning from world-class experts on AI-related harms and working in interdisciplinary teams
• Intrinsic curiosity and eagerness to fill skill gaps, combined with clear communication skills to share knowledge with others
• Comfort with ambiguity and rapid change; ability to add structure where needed
• Machine learning experience is a plus but not required
• Must be able to work from London, UK
