About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential social media technology company in their search for a Senior Counsel, Product. This is a remote position based anywhere in the United States, with occasional in-person collaboration 1-2 times per year.

Our client is a platform where millions of users discover inspiration daily. As part of their legal team, you'll work on cutting-edge issues at the intersection of technology, privacy, AI, and digital advertising—providing strategic counsel to product and engineering teams building consumer experiences and advertising solutions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with strategy, engineering, product management, communications, and legal teams to identify and manage legal issues throughout product development cycles
• Provide embedded legal counsel on key areas including privacy, digital advertising, generative AI, intellectual property, copyright, content acquisition, and data use
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex strategic product partnerships and commercial agreements
• Translate complex legal frameworks into clear, actionable guidance that enables teams to innovate confidently
• Monitor and interpret relevant laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, FTC rules) and help implement compliant processes
• Build trusted relationships with senior leaders across product, engineering, and business development to influence strategy
• Develop scalable legal processes, automation, and AI-enabled solutions for efficient counsel delivery

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctorate with minimum 8 years of relevant legal experience in demanding, innovative environments
• At least 1-2 years in-house at a technology company preferred
• Experience counseling on digital advertising/ad tech or core consumer product legal matters; exposure to both is ideal
• Privacy law background required (GDPR, CCPA, FTC rules and related regulations)
• Proven experience leading negotiation of major technology and commercial deals, especially those involving advertising, data, or commerce partnerships
• Exceptional judgment, integrity, and excellent communication and client-service skills
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across product, engineering, and business teams
• Strategic thinking with a track record of creative, pragmatic solutions to novel legal issues
• Ability to quickly master new areas of law and technical product knowledge
• Strong project management skills with ability to drive cross-functional initiatives to completion
• AI-forward mindset with experience using AI tools to accelerate legal analysis and advice
• Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
