Software Engineer II, Solutions Engineering

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital health organization that is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their Solutions Engineering team. This remote position is based in the United States and offers the opportunity to build technical solutions that directly impact how healthcare services are delivered to members.

Our client's Solutions Engineering team sits at the intersection of commercial operations and product engineering. You'll design and build automation tooling, integrations, and workflow solutions that eliminate manual work and solve implementation challenges for healthcare partners.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship automation tooling and integrations that reduce manual work in file processing, migrations, eligibility, contracting, and billing workflows
• Own enhancements and moderate-complexity features within automations and integrations, collaborating with commercial, product, and engineering stakeholders
• Participate in root-cause investigations for implementations and escalations, identifying opportunities to prevent recurring issues
• Extend existing templates, standards, and automation frameworks rather than building one-off solutions
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate solution delivery
• Pair with senior engineers to build proficiency across the team's technology stack
• Participate in on-call rotation to triage and resolve issues affecting members and internal teams

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience writing readable, tested, and efficient production code
• Strong Ruby on Rails experience preferred, or exceptional backend engineering skills in other languages with willingness to ramp on Rails
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Proven ability building and consuming APIs and integrations across service boundaries
• Active use of AI coding assistants with a quality-conscious approach to where they add value
• Experience with workflow-automation platforms such as Tines, n8n, or similar tools
• Track record of shipping measurable improvements to well-defined problems
• Strong communication skills to translate between business needs and technical implementation
• Solid debugging and optimization capabilities
• Understanding of SDLC processes and frameworks
• Ability to ramp onto unfamiliar codebases and judgment to know when to consult system owners

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue)
• Healthcare or regulated/data-sensitive domain experience
• Exposure to solutions engineering, implementation, or customer-facing technical environments
