Senior UX Researcher – 6 month contract

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization seeking a Senior UX Researcher for a 6-month contract. This role supports an integrated care portfolio serving acute and payer markets, with a focus on healthcare and financial workflows. You'll partner directly with Product and UX Design teams to drive strategic decisions through rigorous research and customer insights.

Location: Canada – Remote or Hybrid (Mississauga, ON)

Contract Duration: 6 months

Note: Remote candidates should expect occasional travel to the Mississauga office for onboarding and team events. Hybrid candidates must reside within commutable distance to Mississauga and participate in regular in-office collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and UX Design at project inception to formulate discovery plans, identify target participants, and recommend research methodologies
• Lead end-to-end research activities including participant recruitment, discussion guide development, study facilitation, analysis, synthesis, and presentation of findings
• Conduct user outreach, use-case discovery, persona and journey mapping, validation, and usability studies using unbiased and standardized research practices
• Execute mixed-method research including surveys, in-depth interviews, remote feedback sessions, usability testing, and prototype-based validation
• Translate customer feedback and research data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for Product, UX Design, Engineering, and stakeholders
• Lead or participate in workshops and communicate strategic research decisions to leadership
• Provide project leadership to researchers and designers on assigned initiatives
• Collaborate with internal subject matter experts, Customer Success, Data Science, and Customer Insights teams to strengthen understanding of user personas and journeys

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a UX researcher or in a similar customer-focused research role
• Bachelor's degree in psychology, statistics, human-computer interaction, information systems, or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to create research strategy, develop discussion guides, select methodologies, conduct interviews and studies, and analyze findings
• Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills with ability to translate user feedback into insights that drive user-centered decisions
• Experience with research and survey tools such as Dovetail, User Interviews, Salesforce, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, and analytics platforms like Pendo
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present findings, persuade stakeholders, and articulate strategic decisions
• Ability to travel to customer sites approximately four times per year
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot to enable research work

Preferred Experience:

• Experience researching healthcare, medical, regulated, payer, acute-care, or financial applications
• Experience collaborating in Figma and Miro for prototype-based research
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across Product, UX Design, Engineering, Customer Success, Data Science, and Customer Insights teams
