About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a (Senior) Sustainability Manager to join their Product Management team in Munich. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of sustainability reporting solutions at the intersection of product development, regulation, and customer needs.

In this role, you will drive the evolution of digital sustainability tools that help organizations meet evolving ESG reporting requirements. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success teams to translate regulatory developments and customer feedback into valuable product capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development of sustainability reporting software with a focus on CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and compliance capabilities
  • Translate regulatory developments and market requirements into clear product priorities and specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering to deliver customer-centric enhancements
  • Serve as a sustainability subject matter expert for internal stakeholders
  • Participate in sales and customer meetings to provide domain-specific guidance on sustainability reporting requirements
  • Gather and evaluate customer and market feedback to continuously improve product offerings
  • Monitor developments in the European sustainability reporting landscape and assess their impact on the product roadmap

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Professional experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, or sustainable finance, ideally within a software or technology environment
  • Strong knowledge of CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and the European sustainability reporting landscape, plus knowledge of additional reporting frameworks or emerging regulations
  • Experience working with cross-functional product development and customer-facing teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into structured product requirements
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German (C2) and English (C1)
  • Experience with ESG or sustainability reporting software
  • Practical experience using AI productivity tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) and AI-enabled workflow automation for sustainability research, regulatory analysis, and product documentation
  • Experience supporting customer conversations, product demonstrations, or go-to-market initiatives

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with agile product development methodologies

Location: Munich, Germany (hybrid model available, including ability to work from abroad within the EU). Remote candidates within Germany will also be considered.
