Senior Software Test Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for a Senior Software Test Engineer. This role focuses on quality assurance, release testing, and data validation for complex healthcare solutions. You'll work with healthcare EDI, HIPAA-compliant systems, CMS reporting, T-MSIS reporting, and enterprise data warehouse environments while leading testing efforts across the full software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business, user, and system requirements to develop comprehensive testing solutions in Agile environments
• Create and maintain release test models including test plans, test data, test scripts, estimates, schedules, and strategies
• Define user acceptance testing criteria and production readiness entry/exit criteria
• Design, develop, execute, and debug test cases, test scripts, and quality strategy documentation
• Perform functional, integration, regression, database, and batch job testing
• Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy, completeness, transformation, and reporting outcomes
• Support healthcare technology testing involving EDI, HIPAA, PHI, CMS reports, federal reporting, T-MSIS reports, ELT processes, and data warehouse environments
• Manage test cases, documentation, and defect tracking using JIRA and Azure DevOps
• Identify, document, triage, and manage software defects through resolution using structured troubleshooting methodologies
• Plan, create, maintain, and control test environments and release installation procedures
• Coordinate release activities and participate in structured walk-throughs, peer reviews, and release readiness meetings
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, product teams, and client-facing teams to resolve requirements and deliver quality outcomes

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years as a QA Engineer, Software Test Engineer, Test Analyst, or similar role
• 8+ years working across full software development life cycle implementations
• Proven ability creating test plans, estimates, schedules, strategies, cases, scripts, and test data
• Strong experience writing complex SQL statements for data validation and backend testing
• Hands-on database testing, batch job testing, data validation, and reporting validation experience
• Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar test management and defect tracking tools
• Hands-on experience with test automation concepts, frameworks, and execution
• Experience testing healthcare systems involving EDI, HIPAA, PHI, CMS, federal reporting, or T-MSIS reporting
• Experience with ELT processes, enterprise data warehouses, and business intelligence platforms

Preferred:

• Experience testing Medicaid, Medicare, pharmacy, payer, provider, or government healthcare technology platforms
• Experience validating healthcare claims, encounters, eligibility, enrollment, provider, or reporting data
• Working knowledge of Agile testing, release management, and production readiness
• Experience participating in peer reviews, structured walkthroughs, and release readiness reviews
