Senior Software Engineer – OpenGRC

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity technology firm that is building a next-generation risk management platform from the ground up. This is a greenfield opportunity to architect and deliver a product that transforms how security leaders quantify and communicate cyber risk.

Our client is moving beyond static compliance checklists. Their new platform correlates live threat intelligence with organizational assets, verifies whether security controls actually work, and translates technical exposures into financial impact. As a founding engineer on this product team, you will define the architecture, ship core features, and solve challenging problems at the intersection of threat data, asset management, and risk quantification.

Responsibilities

• Build correlation engines that link real-time threat feeds to internal assets and security controls
• Integrate verification workflows that test whether defenses hold against current threats
• Design quantification logic that calculates financial risk dynamically as the threat landscape changes
• Own full-stack development: React and TypeScript on the frontend, Node.js on the backend, PostgreSQL for persistence
• Deliver features that run both as SaaS and on-premises deployments
• Prototype rapidly to validate product hypotheses, then refactor as user feedback reshapes the vision
• Contribute to product direction wherever engineering decisions intersect with user outcomes
• Set technical standards for code quality, type safety, readability, and maintainability
• Mentor team members and guide architectural decisions as the squad grows

What We're Looking For

• Senior-level full-stack engineer with deep expertise across the stack, from data models to user interfaces
• Proven ability to model complex, unmapped domains—dozens of objects, relationships, and real-time aggregations—without predefined schemas
• Technical leadership experience: you elevate other engineers, explain trade-offs clearly, and grow team autonomy
• Track record of owning end-to-end features and identifying cross-cutting technical risks early
• Pragmatic approach that balances speed, craft, and long-term maintainability; you prototype to learn and refactor when the product evolves
• Product sense: you think about the end user and shape direction where engineering meets product decisions
• Curiosity about AI tooling and willingness to adopt new workflows that improve delivery
• Fluent in English and French
• Nice to have: background in GRC, cybersecurity, or risk quantification; familiarity with CTI standards such as STIX/TAXII or MITRE ATT&CK; open-source contribution experience
