Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization that is migrating multiple products and services to a unified platform. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build the services that make this migration possible, ensuring previously isolated areas gain the same improvements enjoyed by other parts of the platform.

In this role, you will:

• Break down customer problems into executable tasks for yourself and the team
• Independently complete features from start to finish with a high level of quality
• Design solutions for new and existing features within a microservices architecture
• Use engineering best practices to solve problems and build enterprise-grade software
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders across product, support, and cloud teams
• Mentor team members as the group adopts Kotlin following the current release cycle
• Work within an agile framework, adapting as priorities shift during platform consolidation

Tech Stack: Kotlin, Spring Boot, REST API, Microservices, AWS

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Minimum 5 years developing enterprise-grade software with strong understanding of testing and quality assurance
• Minimum 5 years working with Kotlin, Spring Boot, and AWS
• Associates degree or equivalent experience
• Right to work in the UK (candidates must already hold UK work authorization or sponsorship)

Preferred:

• Experience with performance and load testing applications
• Hands-on use of AI-driven coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar)
• Track record of mentoring or coaching other engineers
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments
• Apple platform experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
