Senior Software Engineer II – Risk

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join their Risk engineering team. This is a remote position based in the United States.

We're looking for an experienced engineer who understands that writing new code isn't always the answer. When technological solutions are needed, you'll create secure, maintainable, and scalable systems that address complex healthcare industry challenges. You'll embrace strategies that minimize risk through observability, alerting, metrics, high test coverage, and frequent incremental releases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement scalable, performant solutions for web applications and data pipelines
• Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and stakeholders to develop and execute technical roadmaps using Agile processes
• Maintain, improve, and expand existing web application infrastructure
• Mentor and coach junior engineers through thorough pull request reviews
• Serve as a trusted technical decision-maker, balancing short-term delivery with long-term business value
• Provide and receive critical feedback on technical work

What We're Looking For

Required:

• BS/BTech or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 6+ years building full-stack web applications as part of cross-functional teams
• 3+ years working with SQL or other database querying languages on large multi-table datasets
• 3+ years acting as a trusted technical decision-maker in team settings
• 3+ years coaching and mentoring other engineers

Preferred:

• Expertise in at least one server-side technology (Node.js, Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++, Go, JVM)
• Experience with data ingestion systems and optimizing large-scale data processing
• Familiarity with relational database systems
• API design and development experience
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Background working with security and sensitive data handling
