About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential elite sports technology organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Motorsport development team in London. Our client provides race management and team strategy systems used by top-tier motorsport organizations worldwide, including premier racing series and championship-winning teams.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead development efforts on advanced race management software, with a particular focus on endurance racing strategy systems. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your code directly impacts the performance of some of the world's most competitive racing teams and organizations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of race management software for one or more motorsport series
- Collaborate with product managers and customers to design features and prioritize development tasks
- Identify and implement innovative new capabilities to enhance the software platform
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code in C/C++
- Ensure code quality, organization, and adherence to best practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Maintain and enhance software reliability and performance
- Provide rotational support coverage for live motorsport events at weekends
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Genuine passion for motorsport
- 5+ years of experience delivering software in a fast-paced, technical environment
- Proven track record building applications in C/C++
- Experience developing, scaling, and supporting products throughout their entire lifecycle
- Strong aptitude for working with complex data
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Customer-focused mindset with willingness to go above and beyond
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Availability to support live motorsport events on weekends on a rotational basis
Preferred:
- Degree in computer science or other scientific/technical subject
- Prior experience working in motorsport (strongly advantageous)
- Understanding of challenges faced by motorsport officials and teams during event management
- Experience with project management platforms such as JIRA or Monday
- Experience developing Windows applications in Visual Studio
- Experience developing applications that process video
