Senior Software Engineer, Build Loop

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology company seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Build Loop to join their developer productivity team. This is a permanent, full-time position based remotely in Argentina.

Our client is building the next generation of service infrastructure, focusing on monorepo architecture, platform engineering, and developer experience. You'll be working on the tools and systems that enable product engineering teams to ship faster with higher quality.

Responsibilities

• Design and build service scaffolding that enables product teams to stand up new backend services in a next-generation monorepo environment
• Implement generators, paved paths, and platform primitives that make new services production-ready on day one
• Build architectural seams that allow new services to run independently of existing monolithic systems
• Own deployment processes for services and web applications across cloud platforms, ensuring interoperability with existing infrastructure managed through modern IaC tools
• Lead migrations of substantial codebases into the monorepo, creating repeatable patterns and processes
• Partner directly with product teams as internal platform customers, measuring success through adoption and addressing friction points
• Encode learnings into tooling, generators, and agent-assisted workflows to increase team leverage over time
• Participate in engineering citizenship activities including technical blogging, hiring process improvement, and internal technical initiatives

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years building and operating backend services in production environments
• Demonstrated experience in backend service design including defining service boundaries, contracts, and data ownership
• Business-level fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

You'll excel in this role if you have:

• Experience working within large, tightly-coupled codebases and successfully extracting functionality incrementally
• Fluency in TypeScript and Node.js, with comfort working in edge runtimes
• Hands-on experience with monorepo tooling at scale (Nx, Turborepo, or similar) and understanding of build-graph correctness
• Approach migration work as engineering rather than tasks: budgeting for edge cases, verifying generated output, and maintaining behavior parity
• Experience as a platform engineer with real internal customers, adapting platforms to how teams actually work
• Comfort working across cloud boundaries with a considered view of workload placement and cross-cloud cost implications
• Strong written communication skills for documenting decisions and enabling knowledge transfer
• Curiosity about emerging technologies and proactive engagement with AI tools to improve workflows and outcomes
