Senior Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is building production-ready AI systems for financial institutions across the UK. Our client has been recognized with multiple industry awards and is backed by leading investors. They are now scaling their engineering organization to meet growing demand.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be building and scaling products that sit on top of large language models, enabling financial institutions to adopt AI safely and effectively. You won't be building or training the models themselves—instead, you'll be engineering the platforms, services, user interfaces and integrations that bring those models to life for advisers, analysts and banking teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust event-driven microservices and APIs
• Build scalable, cloud-native systems on AWS
• Develop modern, responsive React front-ends
• Integrate LLM-powered capabilities into real-world workflows
• Collaborate closely with product and AI specialists to turn ideas into reliable, customer-ready features
• Utilize AI coding assistants effectively to speed up development and improve code quality

What We're Looking For

Required technical experience:

• Production systems development using Node.js and TypeScript
• Hands-on UI development with React and modern front-end tooling
• Cloud-native engineering on AWS (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, RDS)
• Microservices, messaging patterns and distributed systems
• Experience with NestJS or equivalent back-end frameworks

• Interest in AI-powered products and drive to learn
