Senior Security Engineer (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their CISO team in a hybrid working model in München. This is a hands-on role where you'll be part of a collaborative three-person security team that values shared responsibility and direct implementation over ticket queues and silos.

You'll have the opportunity to take technical ownership of cloud security architecture, work closely with security analysts on detection engineering, and contribute across the full security spectrum—from identity and endpoint security to AI-assisted security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of security architecture and controls across Azure environments, including cloud security platforms, SIEM solutions, and log analytics infrastructure
• Build and maintain security guardrails directly in Terraform as Infrastructure as Code
• Develop and continuously improve security detections in close collaboration with the security analyst responsible for SIEM monitoring and triage
• Further develop vulnerability management and monitoring across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
• Contribute security expertise across identity, endpoint security, application security, and incident response
• Develop internal security tooling and automations, including AI-assisted penetration testing capabilities
• Help identify and mitigate AI-specific security risks, from secure use of AI coding assistants to prompt injection vulnerabilities

What We're Looking For

• At least five years of experience in security engineering with several years of hands-on Azure security implementation
• AZ-500 certification or equivalent practical expertise (SC-100, CISSP, CCSP, or Security+ are a plus)
• Strong ability to read, write, and develop security-related Terraform code
• Practical experience with Entra ID, RBAC, and PIM
• Solid knowledge of network security, SIEM platforms, and detection engineering
• Experience with vulnerability management tools and methodologies
• Hands-on mindset—you implement and operate the security controls you design rather than just documenting them
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to share knowledge and work on areas of joint ownership
• Professional English communication skills (German is a plus but not required)
• Experience with Python, Django, PowerShell, or AI-assisted development is beneficial
• Background in penetration testing (traditional or AI-assisted) and cloud migration security is welcome but not essential
