Senior Project Manager (US Federal) with Security Clearance

Workday, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager with US Federal security clearance expertise for our Reston, Fairfax County office. This is a full-time position working directly with federal government clients and internal stakeholders to deliver critical enterprise solutions.

As Senior Project Manager (US Federal) with Security Clearance at Workday, you'll lead strategic initiatives for federal government clients. This role bridges Workday's innovative enterprise software capabilities and the mission-critical needs of US federal agencies. You'll manage complex projects in a security-conscious environment, requiring an active or eligible security clearance and deep familiarity with federal contracting practices and compliance requirements.

What You'll Do

• Direct end-to-end project delivery for federal agency clients, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources across multiple concurrent initiatives
• Coordinate between federal stakeholders, internal Workday teams, and subcontractors to ensure alignment and success
• Develop and maintain project schedules, risk registers, and stakeholder communication plans
• Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FAR), agency-specific policies, and security requirements
• Report project status to government clients and internal leadership using federal reporting standards
• Mentor junior project coordinators and build high-performing teams in a collaborative environment

What We're Looking For

• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one; US citizenship required
• 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years managing federal government contracts or projects
• Demonstrated expertise in federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and compliance frameworks
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills across government and corporate environments
• Project management certification (PMP, PMI-PgMP, or equivalent) preferred
• Experience with enterprise software implementations or IT modernization programs for federal agencies
• Proficiency with project management tools and federal reporting systems
