About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential client in the digital marketplace sector that is building AI-powered products at scale. They're looking for a Senior Product Manager (AI) to join their team in Canada. Our client is part of a global organization with operations across multiple continents, and they offer truly flexible remote work options.
This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, machine learning, and customer value. You'll own the vision and delivery of AI capabilities that solve real problems—from intelligent recommendations and pricing to search optimization and workflow automation. This is a high-impact position where you'll work across data science, engineering, design, and business teams to bring AI features from concept through launch and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Own the product strategy, roadmap, and market fit for AI-powered features within your domain (recommendations, pricing, search, conversational tools, automation)
- Conduct user research, interviews, and analytics reviews to identify high-value AI opportunities and validate where AI should—and shouldn't—be applied
- Serve as the subject matter expert on AI product capabilities, limitations, responsible use, measurement, and monitoring
- Drive end-to-end product planning from discovery and problem framing through launch, adoption tracking, and iteration
- Translate business needs and data requirements into clear product outcomes, working with stakeholders across sales, support, data science, and account management
- Maintain and prioritize a product backlog that balances new AI features, experiments, data work, and technical debt
- Define MVPs for AI capabilities, considering value, feasibility, risk, bias, safety, and responsible-use standards
- Collaborate with data science and engineering to build scalable, robust AI solutions; participate in UAT, defect triage, and mitigation with attention to AI-specific risks (hallucination, bias, output quality)
- Communicate progress, experiment results, and roadmap updates to internal and external stakeholders in clear, jargon-free language
- Contribute to business cases justifying AI investments, including expected value, infrastructure costs, model costs, and key risks
- Conduct competitive and market analysis to identify trends, gaps, and emerging user expectations shaped by AI
- Lead cross-functional initiatives for discovery and delivery of strategic AI products
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in product management, business, engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of product management or product ownership experience in software development, including 2+ years working on AI/ML-powered features or data products
- Strong requirements elicitation and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Experience with customer support workflows and bug tracking systems
- Proficiency with modern product and collaboration tools (JIRA, G Suite, or equivalents); familiarity with analytics or experimentation platforms is a plus
- Deep customer empathy and ability to connect data science capabilities to real user problems and business outcomes
- Understanding of AI/ML product constraints, including data requirements, model performance, bias, safety, and responsible use
- Ability to balance innovation with pragmatic delivery in a fast-paced, data-rich environment
- Experience in marketplaces, advertising, e-commerce, SaaS, or similar data-driven domains is a strong plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain AI concepts and trade-offs to diverse audiences
