Senior Product Engineer, eComm (all gender)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential global transportation technology company in their search for a Senior Product Engineer to join their eCommerce solutions team. Our client operates a cutting-edge B2B marketplace platform connecting ground transportation providers with major online retailers across 70+ countries. This is a remote-first role with optional access to their Berlin headquarters.

In this position, you'll be building and maintaining the core backend infrastructure that powers critical business applications used by millions of travelers worldwide. You'll work with modern Python frameworks and collaborate across distributed teams to solve complex technical challenges at scale.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Python code for backend services and APIs
• Design, implement, deploy, and monitor business-critical applications across the full lifecycle
• Develop and maintain backend services within large-scale web projects
• Debug, test, and optimize applications for performance and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new product features
• Improve development workflows including CI/CD pipelines, PR reviews, local testing, and release processes
• Partner with stakeholders to translate ambiguous problems into clear technical requirements
• Challenge assumptions and align technical solutions with real-world business constraints
• Contribute to technical direction and influence product decisions beyond implementation

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience building and operating backend services in Python, with full ownership from design through maintenance
• Strong experience with frameworks such as FastAPI or Django
• Solid understanding of SQL databases, including indexes and locks
• Product-minded engineering approach—you actively shape technical direction and platform evolution
• Fluent in English (written and verbal) with comfort working across multiple time zones
• Driven and ambitious personality, willing to take hands-on ownership
• Preference for clear written communication and asynchronous workflows

Nice to have:

• Experience with additional languages such as Ruby or TypeScript
• Full-stack experience with ReactJS
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
