Senior Product Designer

We're representing a fast-growing B2B SaaS company that's redefining how enterprise software is designed and built. Our client operates with a unique, principles-driven approach to product development—one where design isn't siloed but integrated deeply into the product team. If you're tired of traditional handoff workflows and want to solve complex problems with real autonomy, this role offers exactly that.

This is a high-impact position reporting to senior leadership. You'll work across a massive product surface area, contributing to design systems, interaction design, information architecture, and product strategy. The team values craft, first-principles thinking, and the ability to challenge the status quo.

Responsibilities

• Consult with engineering on layout, typography, user flows, and UI patterns
• Conduct customer research, analyze data, and develop informed design proposals
• Create visual artifacts and specifications in Figma to align stakeholders on key decisions
• Own end-to-end design for major product features—from jobs-to-be-done through final interactions
• Build and maintain a usability backlog based on customer feedback and heuristic evaluation
• Consolidate and refine the design system to ensure consistency, functionality, and visual excellence
• Write detailed specification documents that communicate design rationale and drive alignment
• Work independently with minimal guidance, making decisions that engineers and product leaders will challenge constructively

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of product design experience in desktop SaaS environments
• Ability to think from first principles rather than defaulting to standard UX processes
• Strong skills in breaking down complex user problems through thoughtful questioning
• Intuition to solve many usability problems without relying solely on metrics or formal research
• Curiosity and resourcefulness in generating creative solutions and appropriately de-risking them
• Expertise in layout, navigation, information architecture, UI design, and interaction design
• Exceptional visual design skills with obsessive attention to craft and detail
• Comfort with written documentation and asynchronous communication
• Desire to work across the full design spectrum—not narrowly focused on one discipline
• Enthusiasm for designing independently without heavy PM or design management oversight
• Experience at an early-stage startup or as a solo designer is a strong plus

This role may not be a fit if you: prefer structured project rhythms with clear briefs and handoffs, want to focus narrowly on one area of design, need frequent in-person collaboration, or are uncomfortable having your work regularly challenged by engineering and product partners.
