Senior Observability Architect | Australia | Remote

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential observability platform organization in their search for a Senior Observability Architect based in Australia. This is a fully remote role for a deeply technical expert ready to step into strategic leadership with enterprise customers.

As an Observability Architect, you'll serve as the technical owner of long-term customer success. You'll architect and guide the implementation of complex observability solutions across modern infrastructure and application environments, building strategic relationships with engineers, SREs, and architects to ensure our client's technology is deeply embedded into mission-critical systems.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role working at the intersection of systems thinking, architecture design, and customer impact. You'll lead technical discovery, design, onboarding, and enablement—all focused on delivering tangible outcomes and guiding customers through their observability maturity curve.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for a portfolio of enterprise customers
• Design observability maturity journeys and guide customers along that path
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and guidance to drive adoption
• Conduct regular technical reviews and health checks to ensure client success
• Assist in root cause analysis to understand issues affecting customer satisfaction and retention
• Advise clients on best practices and strategies for leveraging observability technology to achieve business goals
• Collaborate with clients to develop and execute technical roadmaps
• Identify opportunities for clients to optimize cost, expand use, and adopt new features
• Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders
• Drive adoption and effective use of the product suite to maximize customer value and ROI
• Act as the voice of the customer internally, advocating for their needs and feature requests
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate clients on the technology
• Develop and deliver technical documentation, guides, and tutorials
• Work alongside account teams to conduct regular reviews with customers
• Prepare and present reports on client metrics, achievements, and areas of focus

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Located in Melbourne or Sydney, Australia
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience deploying and operating Kubernetes
• 5+ years of experience in technical support, technical account management, consulting, SE or Professional Services within technology
• Strong understanding of observability solutions (experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki is a plus)
• Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with CRM software, ticketing systems, and relevant programming languages
• Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients (up to 25%)
• Observability expertise, preferably at architect level
• First-class written and oral communication skills to collaborate with remote teams and worldwide customers
• Passion for solving technical challenges and bringing creative solutions to customers

Bonus Points:

• 5+ years of technical sales, TAM or other post-sales technical experience with open source technologies or in the observability space
• Experience connecting product usage to value (ROI)
• Experience managing customer lifecycle
• Creative approach to solving customer adoption challenges
• Ability to proactively assist customers with technical issues and root cause analysis

Pay

The on-target earnings (OTE) compensation range for this role is AUD $207,000 - $256,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process. This role also includes equity participation, giving you ownership in the company's success.
