Senior Manager, Product Design (f/m/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential composable content platform organization seeking a Senior Manager, Product Design to lead a team of product designers working across foundational product areas including content performance optimization, application platform capabilities, business infrastructure, and design systems. In this role, you will balance strategic design leadership with people management—coaching designers, raising the bar on craft, and ensuring design has a strong voice in how these critical parts of the platform evolve.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Managing designers across three distinct product areas: content performance optimization (personalization and analytics), application foundations (design systems, information architecture, workflows, automation, and search), and business foundations (identity and access, monetization, and platform insights)
• Coaching career growth and giving your team real ownership over their areas of the platform
• Partnering directly with product and engineering leadership on strategy to shape how these foundational areas evolve
• Helping define what AI-native design leadership looks like as the organization matures its AI capabilities
• Leading distributed teams across EMEA, collaborating with global colleagues
• Setting and upholding a high bar for design craft through specific, actionable feedback
• Driving a coherent vision that translates across multiple teams supporting a unified platform

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of product design experience, including 3+ years directly managing and developing product designers, ideally at a B2B SaaS or platform company
• Strong track record of partnering with product and engineering leadership at the strategy level, influencing roadmap decisions and driving visioning initiatives
• Customer-centric orientation with the ability to ground design and product decisions in real customer insights
• Experience shaping and evolving product design function practices within an organization
• Portfolio reflecting strong interaction and visual design fundamentals demonstrating a high bar for craft
• Track record of leading design for complex, multi-team product areas with the ability to influence coherent vision across teams
• Experience owning or contributing to a design system at scale; familiarity with open-source design systems is valuable
• Demonstrated success managing distributed, global teams
• Genuine interest in AI-native product design, including shipping AI-powered features and evolving design tooling and workflows
• Strong portfolio evidence of coaching designers through career growth, promotions, skill development, and performance management
• Comfort operating in technically complex, enterprise/platform contexts with API-first architectures and systems thinking

You will be based in or near London. The designers you manage will be distributed across EMEA locations. Some travel is expected, including quarterly training or workshops. This is a pivotal moment for the organization as recent developments have positioned this team's work in front of a massive new customer base.
