Role Overview

As Senior Maintenance Technician at The Wickaninnish Inn, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and preventative care of all building systems and equipment. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine technical expertise with strategic facility management to ensure uninterrupted guest experiences across our Relais & Châteaux destination in Tofino.

Your Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems throughout the resort
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime and extend asset life
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs to support guest satisfaction
• Oversee work orders, prioritise requests, and coordinate with external contractors and vendors
• Mentor and supervise junior maintenance staff and oversee their daily work assignments
• Conduct equipment inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and lower operational costs

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician or facilities engineer in hospitality or similar complex environments
• Technical certifications or licensing in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or equivalent building systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities with independent problem-solving abilities
• Leadership experience and capability to mentor or supervise maintenance teams
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance best practices
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Flexibility to respond to emergency maintenance situations when required
