The Opportunity

The Wickaninnish Inn's world-class dining experiences demand a passionate sommelier who understands that wine service is genuine hospitality. You'll shape how our guests experience the perfect pairing, build relationships through exceptional knowledge, and elevate every meal into a memory. This full-time position places you at the heart of our restaurant operations, where your expertise directly impacts guest satisfaction and loyalty.

Core Duties

• Curate and maintain a thoughtfully selected wine list aligned with our cuisine and guest preferences
• Provide expert wine recommendations and pairings to guests throughout their dining experience
• Train and mentor restaurant staff on wine knowledge, service standards, and guest engagement techniques
• Manage wine inventory, stock rotation, and ensure proper storage conditions in our cellar
• Source wines from local, national, and international producers to reflect our commitment to quality
• Lead by example in delivering the exceptional service standards expected at Relais & Châteaux properties

What You Bring

• Professional sommelier certification or equivalent demonstrated expertise
• Proven experience as a sommelier in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or equivalent establishments
• Deep knowledge of wine regions, varietals, production methods, and food and wine pairing principles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse guests
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail in inventory and programme management
• Passion for hospitality, continuous learning, and sharing your wine knowledge generously
