Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential food delivery technology organization seeking several Senior Machine Learning Engineers for their London teams. In this role, you will develop algorithmic and machine-learning systems that power automated decisions at massive scale across a multi-sided marketplace.

Depending on the team you join, you may focus on:

• Recommendation and catalogue-quality models for grocery and retail discovery, supporting growth and efficiency
• ML and LLM-powered systems for customer care operations, including intent understanding, sentiment analysis, and resolution recommendations
• Core ML models supporting merchant ecosystems (classification, matching, lead-scoring) and AI agents that help partners grow

Across all teams, you will:

• Design and build sophisticated machine learning models to solve complex business problems
• Productionise end-to-end ML solutions from concept to shipping code that drives measurable impact
• Collaborate in cross-functional squads alongside software engineers, data scientists, and product managers
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to technical review processes to maintain high engineering standards

What We're Looking For

Our talent team is seeking candidates with strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others:

• Significant experience applying algorithmic solutions to complex business problems at scale
• Deep understanding of machine learning fundamentals and proven ability to know when and how to apply them effectively
• Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end model productionisation with a strong background in software engineering principles
• Bias for simplicity and focus on achieving tangible business impact over theoretical complexity
• Exceptional programming and statistical skills with the ability to translate ambiguous objectives into technical reality
