(Senior) Legal Counsel (m/w/d) für den Bereich Commercial

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is transforming its industry across Europe through technology and innovation. Our client seeks a Legal Counsel for Commercial matters to join their legal team in Berlin on a hybrid basis.

This role offers the opportunity to work on contract negotiations, vendor agreements, data protection compliance, and international expansion across multiple European markets. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and support the organization's growth in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Support RFP and tender processes, conducting independent contract negotiations with prospects and existing clients across international subsidiaries in DACH, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Benelux, Poland, Romania, and the Nordics
• Review and negotiate data protection agreements (including DPAs), vendor contracts, and partnership agreements
• Coordinate with colleagues across Legal, Compliance, Data Protection, AI Governance, Business Development, IT Security, and Finance teams to ensure legal compliance
• Contribute to the development and implementation of legal operations optimization strategies
• Provide support to senior legal leadership on various commercial and legal matters
• Manage contract lifecycle processes and contribute to improvements in contract management systems and documentation

What We're Looking For

• Legal degree (minimum LL.M.) from an EU/EEA jurisdiction; German second state examination or equivalent strongly preferred
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Commercial Law, preferably in an international European context
• At least 2 years of experience negotiating data protection contracts, ideally including work with partners in France, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Romania
• Practical experience supporting RFP and tender processes, contract negotiations, contract management, and legal reviews in an internationally operating company
• Fluent English is required; French and/or German also required. Additional languages (Italian, Dutch, Swedish) are a strong plus
• Experience in stakeholder management across diverse teams
• Strong interest in contract management systems and ability to develop relevant documentation and processes
• Proactive, solution-oriented approach with ownership mindset
