PHP-Entwickler / Fachinformatiker für Anwendungsentwicklung (m/w/d) | Berlin-Mitte | Vollzeit

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential software development firm in Berlin that serves mid-market organizations, public sector clients, and critical infrastructure operators. Our client builds custom applications where reliability is non-negotiable—systems that run for years with real users depending on them daily.

As a PHP Developer, you will:

• Develop custom web applications from concept through production deployment
• Build REST APIs and integrate with third-party systems and specialized business applications
• Take long-term ownership of live systems—applying security patches, performance tuning, and monitoring production environments
• Work with a modern technology stack including Laravel, Livewire, MySQL, Redis, Docker, and cloud infrastructure
• Participate in Scrum workflows with DevOps boards and conduct peer code reviews
• Communicate directly with longstanding clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions

This role offers a clear growth path: developers who demonstrate leadership capability can advance to Lead Developer and eventually to senior technical leadership positions.

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Completed vocational training as IT Specialist for Application Development (Fachinformatiker für Anwendungsentwicklung), IT-related degree, or equivalent qualification
• Minimum two years professional PHP development experience
• Substantial involvement in at least two PHP projects currently or previously deployed in production
• Strong expertise in Laravel framework (Eloquent ORM, queues, testing, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with at least one JavaScript framework such as Vue.js, React, or Alpine.js
• Proficiency with MySQL and clean database design principles
• Regular use of Docker Compose in your development workflow
• Practiced Git workflow including pull requests and code reviews
• Experience building REST APIs and system integrations
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning—new technologies, languages, and frameworks
• Reliable, independent working style with a hands-on mentality
• German language proficiency at C1 level (primary client communication language)

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Azure or AWS cloud platforms
