Senior HR IT Project Lead – SAP HCM / Integrations / Carve-out (Freelance only, Nearshore)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential international organization currently executing a complex HR technology separation program. Our talent team is searching for a Senior HR IT Project Lead to join this critical initiative on a freelance basis starting October 2026.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role requiring deep SAP HCM expertise and the ability to drive multiple technical workstreams forward simultaneously. You'll coordinate across HR systems, manage integrations, and support internal teams who need your technical guidance. This is not a reporting-focused PMO position—we need someone who can challenge technical approaches, resolve blockers, and independently push deliverables across the finish line.

Engagement Details: Full-time freelance (B2B), 6 months starting October 2026, predominantly remote with very occasional onsite workshops in Bonn, Germany. English working language.

Responsibilities

• Take operational ownership of multiple HR IT workstreams within an international separation and carve-out program
• Coordinate technical and functional activities across SAP HCM and related HR technology platforms
• Drive interface, integration, and data-flow initiatives between recruiting, core HR, payroll, workforce management, and time systems
• Identify and actively resolve blockers, risks, and cross-workstream dependencies
• Coach and support internal workstream owners who have limited HR IT domain knowledge
• Manage dependencies across recruiting, core HR, payroll, workforce/time, and additional HR applications
• Track critical work packages, escalate delays when necessary, and maintain delivery momentum
• Collaborate independently with internal stakeholders and external delivery partners

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Senior-level experience leading complex HR IT transformation or separation programs
• Strong SAP HCM / SAP HR technical and functional background
• Deep understanding of HR system integrations, interfaces, and data flow architectures
• Proven project or workstream leadership experience in multi-system HR landscapes
• Experience with international, multi-region HR technology environments
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication capabilities
• Ability to quickly structure ambiguous situations and drive topics independently
• Fluent English (written and spoken)

Preferred:

• Carve-out, divestiture, TSA exit, or stand-alone HR setup experience
• SuccessFactors and/or SmartRecruiters exposure
• Payroll and/or Workforce Management / Time & Attendance system knowledge
• SAP HCM implementation or support experience in APAC and/or the Americas regions
