Our client is building advanced language technology solutions used by hundreds of thousands of businesses and millions of individuals globally. They're shifting from a software-first to a product-first approach, and the data platform underpins every product decision, model improvement, and business milestone across the organization.

This role sits within the Data Platform team—the engineering foundation that the entire company relies on for working with data effectively. You'll build ingestion infrastructure, maintain a reliable lakehouse, develop tooling for data engineers, and increasingly create AI-powered interfaces that bring data directly into workflows across the company. Your customers aren't just data teams; they're the entire organization.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the data platform infrastructure, shaping the core systems the data ecosystem runs on including a Databricks-based lakehouse and Kafka consumers that reliably ingest data at scale
• Support and extend tooling to make ingestion patterns reusable and robust, making technical decisions that allow the platform to grow with data volume and use-case diversity
• Enable AI-powered data workflows by building connectors, interfaces, and integrations that bring data into the hands of both humans and AI agents
• Design workflow capabilities that let teams access and work with data in AI-assisted workflows across the organization
• Implement data observability, quality frameworks, monitoring and alerting to ensure data reliability at scale
• Steward infrastructure, developer experience, and governance including infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD for data workflows, access management, security configurations, and spend governance
• Build golden-path templates and patterns that make it fast and safe for engineers across the company to derive value from data

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

• Solid hands-on experience building and operating cloud-based data infrastructure
• Comfortable with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Terragrunt), CI/CD for data workflows, and container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Production-quality Python coding skills—Python is the primary language for this platform
• Reliability mindset: builds for observability, writes meaningful alerts, owns systems in production, and turns incidents into durable improvements
• Platform-product mindset that treats engineers, analysts, and teams as primary users and reduces friction proactively
• Clear cross-functional communication skills with ability to actively seek feedback from data consumers
• Experience using AI-powered tools to increase velocity and tackle complex problems

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Databricks, Apache Iceberg, Kafka, or similar lakehouse and streaming technologies
• Familiarity with Go or Java
